As per Andhra Pradesh state policy, preference given to women candidates in certain government medical colleges
2% seats reserved for wards of defense personnel who died/disabled in action
15% seats are filled through MCC AIQ counselling with reservations as per central government norms: General (Open), SC (15%), ST (7.5%), OBC-NCL (27%), EWS (10%), and PwD (5% horizontal)
Seats are allotted purely on the basis of NEET UG rank, category, and choice preferences filled by candidates. Higher the rank, better the chances of getting preferred college.
Andhra Pradesh conducts multiple rounds of counselling (typically 3-4 rounds). Each round includes fresh registration, choice filling, and seat allotment for vacant seats.
Candidates can opt for upgradation in subsequent rounds. If you get a better college in the next round, your previous seat will be automatically cancelled. Choose "Betterment" option during choice filling.
Once allotted a seat, candidates must report to college within specified time, pay fees, and complete admission. Failure to report will result in forfeiture of seat and security deposit.
Final mop-up round is conducted for remaining vacant seats. This is open to candidates who didn't get seats in previous rounds or who want to upgrade.
